Creation: Perfect Relationships
Genesis 1:26-31
Ps Laurence Lee
From the very beginning, the desire to connect has been God’s design. Genesis 1:26-31 reveals God’s perfect design for relationships—between humanity, creation, and Himself. Learn practical ways to relate with one another, reflect His character, and fulfill His purpose.
About this series
Relationships are integral to our being. Even before we were born, we had an inseparable connection with our mother in her womb. Every day, we relate to others: our relatives, classmates, and colleagues. This is how God designed us.
Our relationship with God was perfect at the beginning. When God walked in the garden, He communed intimately with Adam and Eve. But Adam and Eve sinned against God, creating a separation between man and God. God banished the first couple from the Garden, and they wandered the earth, estranged from God. Humankind felt distant from God for many generations to come.
God, however, never gave up on us. In his great love, God reconciled us with himself by Jesus’ work on the cross. Now, we can have an intimate relationship with God the Father. Today, we continue to experience broken relationships, but there will come a day when God will restore perfect conditions to the world. We will commune with God face-to-face once more.
