Psalm 84:1-4
Ps Denis Lu
"Longing for God's House" dives into Psalm 84:1-4, highlighting the psalmist’s deep desire to be in God’s presence. This message reminds us of the joy in worshiping with God’s people, to value fellowship and prioritise time in God’s house to grow spiritually.
About this series
Have you ever been away from home for a long time? Did you feel homesick? Every one of us is longing for home. Our very being is one that longs for home. However, our true home is not a physical place, or an address found on Google Maps. It is the house of God.
In the Old Testament, God’s house was the temple of Jerusalem. Today, only remnants of that temple remain. But God’s temple still exists. Our temple today is the temple Holy Spirit, the church that gathers in Jesus’ name. The church is that temple, and the church is our home.
Let us rediscover, from Psalm 84, the beauty and joy of coming together to worship in our Sunday services, prayer gatherings and fellowship groups. As we do so, may our worship deepen and our celebration heighten, as we look up to the Lord, the one in whose house we long for.
